One of the best-selling action packed role-playing video games of the year just got better.

Polish game developer CD Projekt RED has announced the release of all 16 DLCs for the open-world video game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The best thing about it is that it’s free to download for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The Witcher posted a tweet sharing the bewitching news for The Witcher 3 fans:

New additions to the game include alternative character appearances, new quests, new contracts, new armor and weaponry sets, and the New Game Plus mode that allows gamers to embark on a new game after accomplishing missions without losing any of their previous gear.

"I’d like to extend my thanks to all the gamers who played our game and gave these DLCs a try. Nothing makes a developer happier than seeing gamers have fun with what they created," CD Projekt RED co-founder Marcin Iwiński said in a statement.

Here’s how you can get the DLCs for your gaming platform:

For PC users:

1. GOG Galaxy

Select the Free DLC Program option on the Additional Content section of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt game page. From there, go to the More/Configure menu and select the Available Content option - this will allow you to choose the DLCs available. Galaxy will automatically download the DLCs you selected.

2. Steam

Steam will automatically download the available The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt DLCs as part of its update process. Simply select all the DLCs of your choice on its game page. Note that you might have to restart Steam in case the downloaded DLCs do not appear in the game.

3. EA Origin

Open the product page of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt by clicking on the game title in your My Games library. Scroll down to the Add-ons and Bonuses section of the page then select the Get It Now/Download option to get the free additional content.

For PlayStation 4 users:

The DLCs are shown as Add-Ons on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt PSN page.

For Xbox One users:

You can find the DLC on the Xbox Live store as Downloadable Content.

For those keeping track of the available DLCs, here’s a list of all 16 free DLCs released since May 2015:

1. Temerian Armor Set
2. Beard and Hairstyle Set
3. New Quest – ‘Contract: Missing Miners’
4. Alternative Look for Yennefer
5. Nilfgaardian Armor Set
6. Elite Crossbow Set
7. New Quest – ‘Fool’s Gold’
8. Ballad Heroes’ Neutral Gwent Card Set
9. New Quest – ‘Scavenger Hunt: Wolf School Gear’

The reason all DLC content is free to download for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt players is because the developers feel that they owe the game's fans for paying full price for the game. Iwiński also hopes that CD Projekt’s initiative becomes a gaming industry standard rather than an exception to the rule.
