Destiny's The Taken King expansion will be bringing some sweeping changes to Xur and end-game progression. Earlier this week Bungie detailed new game systems like item collections and exotic blueprints, and it's hard not to be a little excited.

The developer also announced that all players will be receiving double the vault space for weapons and armor. You know what that means: spending spree! Xur has arrived once again in the Tower to sell exotic weapons and armor. Now that we know certain pieces of exotic gear from year one will be upgraded for year two (and can be crafted immediately upon reaching level 40, if you have the necessary materials), stocking up on missing items becomes an even greater priority.

We don't yet know what all year one items will be making the jump. Bungie mentioned a few during their Taken King livestream, saying weapons like Suros Regime and armor like Light Beyond Nemesis would be returning in a big way.

From Xur's inventory this week, it seems like Thunderlord may have a solid chance of being upgraded for Destiny's second year. The exotic heavy machine gun packs a punch and is one of the weapons Bungie showed off numerous times before the game even launched. Warlocks may also be interested in picking up Starfire Protocol. If you would rather roll the dice, Xur is selling an exotic chest engram as well for 23 Motes of Light.

Xur can be found this week hanging out in the Tower by the Vanguard vendors. Simply spawn and go straight down the stairs to find him.

No matter what you do in the weeks ahead, don't dismantle any unwanted gear. Bungie says wait for the expansion before you start breaking down everything, as The Taken King will evaluate your character level based on the gear in your inventory and your vault. There is also the upgraded year one items to consider. You can check out Xur's full list of wares below.
