Gamers that have opened copies of the Collector's Edition of the highly-anticipated Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain by Konami for the PlayStation 4 are finding no DLC codes within the packaging of the game.

The issue was first seen on online forum Reddit, where users complained about the missing voucher codes that should come with the Collector's Edition versions of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

The codes were nowhere to be found when copies of the game were opened. For the prologue of the title, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, the codes were found inside the regular game cover, but no codes were found in the same place for the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Collector's Edition.

One Redditor posted on the forum thread that another gamer in Chile reported the same problem after opening two copies of the title. The same Redditor said that while there have been no reports coming out of Europe regarding the missing codes, it does not mean that the region is not affected by the issue.

One possible solution suggested for the problem is that gamers may have to send a proof of purchase to Konami with other supporting details to be able to receive the DLC codes. However, this could be a problem for gamers that purchased the game through digital means such as through eBay.

The versions of the title for the Xbox One, however, come with the voucher codes, as it seems that only the PlayStation 4 editions are affected by the problem.

Another thread on Reddit has confirmed the problem, but the Redditors were able to speak with Konami. The developer said that due to an error in the process, the PlayStation 4 versions of the game were shipped without DLC codes on the packaging, with Konami stating that the DLC codes will be given to the retailers of the title.

Gamers purchased the Collector's Edition Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain to be among the first people to receive their copies of the title, with the DLC codes as an additional draw to acquiring them. The codes unlock a multitude of content for the game, namely a Snake costume pack, a cardboard box pack, a weapons pack that includes four guns and four ballistic shields, the venom snake emblem, items from Metal Gear Online and an experience boost for Metal Gear Online.

The Collector's Edition should supposedly also come with the Day One Edition DLC, which unlocks the Adam-ska special revolver, a silver personal ballistic shield, a wetland cardboard box, and a blue urban fatigues outfit.

The official release date for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is on Sept. 1, with the game receiving excellent reviews in advance of its worldwide launch.
