Microsoft's Skype has updated on Android, allowing users to finally manage their conversations from Android Wear.

Using the Android Wear app, users can reply to messages, either through pre-written responses or through voice-to-text input on the platform. Users can also reply with emojis, as is the case in the Skype Apple Watch app.

"Today we're excited to announce Skype 6.4 for Android, which brings you new ways to manage conversations on Android Wear devices such as the Moto 360, Huawei Watch, LG Watch Urbane, or the ASUS ZenWatch," said Microsoft in a blog post.

Users can also take calls straight from the wrist, however, it's important to note that the call itself will be through the user's phone. Basically, the smartwatch can act as a pick up/hang up button.

While Skype did mention specific devices as being supported, it didn't mention that there were any limitations, so users can probably download the app even if their device isn't on the list.

It's unlikely that users will be able to actually have Skype conversations from their wrist for a while, largely because of the fact that few smartwatches actually have video cameras and speakers. It's not yet known if video cameras will become standard on smartwatches or not, but either way, it would be nice for users to eventually be able to make audio-only calls.
