Windows Phone users will soon be able to group their apps into folders as support for native folders is coming to Windows Phone 8.1. This is similar to how one creates an app folder on iOS: hold an icon, drag it over another app and then a folder is created. For Windows Phone, however, users will drag a Tile over another.

Instructions were posted on Microsoft's very own Windows Phone website but the document has since been deleted. The page was listed under the Windows Phone 8 page as a guide on how to personalize the Start screen. This could be helpful but it's not clear yet if this will come with the actual OS release or only as an update to Windows Phone 8.1. This particular Windows Phone OS version is expected to launch this coming July, if not, in August.

This native folder support could also be similar to the recent folder functionality Nokia added to the Windows Phone 8. The new feature came with the Lumia Black update.

Interestingly, there was a note that says, "you need to have Windows Phone 8.1 update installed on your phone."

Instructions on how to remove a Tile from a group were also published on the deleted page. Similar to the iOS, hold the Tile and drag anywhere on the Start screen.

With the not-so-new folder organizing feature, Windows Phone users will be able to access apps from a folder. Microsoft has yet to confirm this and make an official announcement but this is most likely to be true.

This unconfirmed information is a bit of good news to Windows Phone users as they will soon be allowed to organize their Start screen, as well as, have quick and easy access to their favorite apps. While Windows Phone screen already looks clean and organized with the Metro-style interface, there still is room for improvement.

Microsoft is serious to provide better app management on the new Windows Phone and looks like the company is well on its way there. However, the page being pulled out makes it unclear yet. Microsoft may not be ready to go public with this one but good thing the scheduled roll out of the Windows Phone 8.1 is happening soon.
