Xbox One users are already preparing themselves for the anticipated July update of the video game platform. That update is "coming soon," says Microsoft's Larry Hryb.

The gaming device has maintained pace with Sony, but still lags behind as the second most popular gaming platform in the United States. The hope is the new update will continue to build on the device and push it to the top of the market.

Hryb wrote on his blog the update was en route and that it would be available in the very near future. He says that the rollout of the next system update "around the world [will happen] in the coming days."

Users can expect a new and improved dashboard functionality, he says, as well as a number of noticeable improvements.

"The team has been working hard to bring you a new and enhanced Snap mode for achievements, double-tap to Snap, and more voice control choices in select regions," reads the blog post.

Among the new features will be additional spoken language options, including German voice models from other countries. And it also will add a number of distinct English-speaking country options whereby users will be able to choose other English language models of their liking.

Microsoft also says that they are "doing some work now so that publishers will have options for great digital bundle and disc compilation offerings in the future." That should be a huge bonus for users, who have long pressed the company to have such flexibility in combinations of game titles and content.

Hryb also spoke to the continued comments being made on the Xbox comment page where suggestions and concerns can be told to the company.

"We're continuing to gather your suggestions and recommendations on our dedicated channel called Xbox Feedback, so keep it coming. Thank you for taking the time to help us make Xbox the best place to play," he said.

Microsoft is hopeful that by bolstering its system as a whole, it can entice more users to get on the Xbox bandwagon. Sales have been solid, but with Sony Playstation 4 continuing to lead domestic sales, Microsoft is in need of something to position itself away from the PS4. With a large number of games on the prowl for release later this summer and in the fall, Xbox sales are expected to increase, especially as the holiday season grows closer.
