Samsung, it seems, is poised to release the successor of its Galaxy Grand 2 phablet: the Galaxy Grand 3.

The specs of the Galaxy Grand 3 have leaked online via a benchmark site, hinting that the release of the device may not be far away.

A smartphone with the code name "SM-G7200" has been spotted on GFXBench. The device in question (with the prefix for Samsung) is believed to be the Galaxy Grand 3. The benchmark site lists the graphics performance of the Samsung SM-G7200 and also reveals the supposed specifications of the upcoming Samsung smartphone.

This is not the first time the SM-G7200 has popped up online. Earlier in October, the mysterious Samsung smartphone passed through Bluetooth SIG certification.

The Galaxy Grand 2 was introduced in November 2013 and released in December 2013. The leaks seem to be building toward the announcement of the Galaxy Grand 3.

According to the GFXBench listing, the Galaxy Grand 3 will tout a 5.5-inch display, which is an improvement on the Galaxy Grand 2's 5.25-inch screen. However, the screen resolution does not see any improvement, based on the leaked listing. It will stay at 1280 x 720 pixels.

The Galaxy Grand 3 will also house a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, which is clocked at 1.2GHz. This is a minor improvement in the previous iteration's Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, which was also clocked at 1.2GHz. The graphics get a slight bump up with Adreno 305 being replaced by Adreno 306.

The RAM for the Galaxy Grand 3 is listed at 1.4 GB, whereas the Galaxy Grand 2 had 1.5 GB. This detail could, however, be a mistake and should be taken with a pinch of salt. The internal storage will also increase from 8 GB to 12 GB.

The Galaxy Grand 3's camera is expected to get an improvement, with a 5 MP secondary camera taking into account the selfie needs of users. The primary camera will also supposedly see improvements with the 8 MP camera on the Galaxy Grand 2 giving way to the 13 MP camera on the Galaxy Grand 3.

The Galaxy Grand 3 will do away with the dual SIM option and support a single SIM. The smartphone will be GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth compatible but will still miss out on NFC compatibility.

No details on the smartphone's battery or release date are available as of now, but with the device receiving Bluetooth 4.0 compliance, the release does not seem far away.
