A simple mistake has an Australian household flowing in toilet paper - thousands of rolls of toilet paper. The family accidentally bought 2,300 rolls of tissue paper as the country faces shortages amid coronavirus outbreak.

The coronavirus outbreak got people running to the stores and shop as many sanitary items as their hands could carry. However, this household made an honest mistake of ordering a year's supply of tissue papers.

Just a simple mistake

Toowoomba's Janetzki family has thousands of rolls mistakenly ordered the 48 boxes of toilet paper in February, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reported. The family only noticed the mistake two days later when the delivery guys had already transported to their home.

The order, sold at the online store Who Gives a Crap, cost $3,264 in place of the $68 that 48 rolls might have charged. Haidee Janetzki paid the rolls through her credit card but didn't check her billing statement until after 48 boxes of bathroom paper arrived at her door.

When asked how she felt about her purchase, Janetzki told Reuters she seemed gobsmacked, confused, and "like a bit of an idiot."

report from 7News quoted Janetzki saying she made a simple mistake as she switched lavatory papers --- thinking the delivery guys delivered the item to a wrong address.

Upon checking the credit card statement to figure out what went wrong, it turned out that Janetzki indeed made a mistake.

"When it [online store] asked for [the] quantity, I [placed] 48, [assuming] that would be a box of 48 rolls," Janetzki said.

A blessing in disguise

The bulk buys turned out to be a blessing in disguise, though. According to Reuters, Janetzki resold the rolls at the same price at which the family bought the item. She said the budget would help pay her child's upcoming school trip.

Janetzki added she felt relieved that her loved ones do not have to worry about the toilet paper shortage in the land down under.

She narrated to ABC that lots of people they know bought the tissue papers from them. Janetzki added they're getting plenty of jokes --- including in the social media.

Who Gives a Crap also refunded $400 in postage for the boxes, which the Janetzkis have placed their daughter's trip.

Janetzki's family was enjoying what they had while they wait for the stock to sell out; their family was enjoying what they had. They constructed a wall of their garage, and then a throne in their lounge room.

Panic buying continues as coronavirus rapidly spread

Major retailers throughout Australia have seen toilet paper shelves empty in current weeks, CNN reported. Stores have even imposed a limit on the number of rolls clients can buy.

Panic buys have spread worldwide in the wake of the new coronavirus outbreak, despite governments discourage stockpiling.

Coronavirus has infected more than 100,000 people - including at least 1,000 in the United States - and killed over at least 4,200 worldwide.
