ASUS Reveals the Roadmap for What Devices Will Get the Android 13 Update
According to the story by Giz China, ASUS is not known as the noisiest company when it comes to the smartphone. However, they still continue to release new flagships every year.
The company has just introduced the ZenFone 9 in the flagship market. The smartphone was described to have compelling specifications.
ASUS ZenFone 9 Could be the First Smartphone to Get the Android 13 Update
The article notes that just like recent releases, the new device will come with a nearly-stock Android firmware. Due to this, it will become one of the first devices that will get the Android 13 update.
The flagship is reportedly coming very close to an Android 13 stable update. The company is celebrating the achievement of disclosing the Android 13 update roadmap which is expected to cover more phones moving forward.
List of ASUS Devices Confirmed to Get the Android 13 Update is Short
The list for the Android 13 update is short. ASUS is only promising two major updates for the smartphones as some have already reached the update quota.
The two major Android updates have been a shared tradition amongst different brands except Samsung and Xiaomi. Both Xiaomi and Samsung are promising up to four major Android updates for their smartphones.
Smartphones to Include the Android 13 Update Include Other ZenFones
However, ASUS only sticks to the traditional two major updates and not the four update practice even for its flagship ZenFone 9. The list reportedly includes the Zenfone series and also discloses different ROG phones details that are going to be update.
The ASUS ZenFone 9 is scheduled to get the update in December. The 2021 ASUS ZenFone 8 as well as the ZenFone 8 Flip will still get the update but in January of next year.
ASUS ZenFone 7 and ZenFone 7 Pro to Get Android 10 Up to Android 12
It was also noted that the ASUS ZenFone 7 and the ZenFone 7 Pro are no longer part of the rollout. The article shared that both phones only got the Android 10 up to the Android 12.
When it comes to the ROG phoneseries, the first in line for the update is the ROG Phone 6D or 6D Ultimate. The smartphone arrived just recently with the Dimensity 9000+ series and will be getting the update first.
ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro Will Get the Android 13 Update in the First Quarter of 2023.
After the ROG Phone 6D, the next smartphones in line to get the update are the ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro which already pack the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. They can be expected to pack the Android 13 somewhere in the first three months of 2023.
The ROG Phone 5 and ROG Phone 5S will also get the update some time during the 2nd quarter of 2023.
