It might not be a speaker that comes with a posthumous, unreleased track by the Wu-Tan Clan's Ol' Dirty Bastard, but the new flagship smart speaker from Sonos, the Play:5, is nothing to mess with—and now, the highly anticipated hardware is available for preorder.

The HiFi/Wi-Fi California-based speaker-maker's new product is a departure from its previous model, which tended to be a bit more stout than sleek. The touch-control Play:5 smart speaker comes equipped with synchronized midwoofers and tweeters, six custom-made drivers, and six separate antennaes for an exacting and surefire wireless capability.

Notably, the Play:5 will feature three orientations: horizontal (respectively as a single speaker and paired with another speaker) and vertical (when paired with another Sonos Play:5).

The speaker also comes with TruePlay, a downloadable mobile app that tests the acoustics of whatever area/room the Play:5 is in, parsing for objects and obstacles like furniture; the app then sends the data to the speaker and tweaks it accordingly to create the optimal listening experience.

The Sonos Play:5 will be available in the U.S. for in-store purchase on Nov. 20, and on Nov. 25 worldwide. If you're more of a preordering type, you can do so here.
