Apple launched it's first app for the Android platform last month called Move, which helps users transfer files from Android devices to iOS. And now the company has released its second-ever app for Google's mobile OS, an app to help Beats Pill+ users manage and control the speaker.

Deciding to release an app for the Beats device only makes sense since the company was acquired by Apple last summer. Called Beats Pill+, the companion app for the device allows users to rename the speaker, control what songs are on your playlist, use two speakers for higher volume, manage who is playing what songs, and monitor the speaker's battery life.

After downloading Pill+, the user just has to turn on the speaker and make sure there is a pulsing "b" on the device. To sync the speaker to your smartphone, go to the Bluetooth menu to select the speaker, and open the app to use its features.

The description for the app in the Play Store is as follows:

Download the Beats Pill+ app to unlock features that put you and your friends at the center of your music like never before. Developed exclusively for the Beats Pill+, now you can control your speaker in multiple ways straight from the app. Bring a second Beats Pill+ speaker into the mix for even more innovative ways to play.

Apple's Beats Pill+ is now available for Android devices on the Play Store for free. The Beats Pill+ Bluetooth speaker retails for $229.95.

Apple also has plans to release its Apple Music app for Android, although there is no release date yet confirmed.
