Fallout 4 is due to launch in a few days and as the marked date approaches, gamers' senses become heightened. Like a drop of fish blood in shark-infested waters, news and leaked images of the upcoming title can easily stir chaos within the Fallout community.

Last Oct. 29, a YouTuber, Vile Self, posted an alleged snapped image of the Fallout 4 menu screen on his Twitter page. He captioned the post "Wuddp #Fallout4." And while he deleted the post a few hours later, netizens were quick enough to download the image.

As expected, the tweet piqued the interest of those eagerly anticipating the next Fallout installment. This is evident in the thread started by Poerts, a Redditor, on the /r/fo4 subreddit. At the moment of writing, the thread has 713 upvotes and 468 comments.

Moreover, with so much anticipation for Fallout 4, fans of the game have taken note of the details that Vile Self revealed on his succeeding tweets while replying to people who were asking questions. Poerts was kind enough to compile the essentials.

"I just had a look a little further into the thread under [Vile Self's] original post. Apparently this is from a friend's copy," Poerts told the community. "He also said that he couldn't say how or why his friend had it. He did mention possibly posting another picture or video from it but who knows."

Based on the shown cached copy of the Twitter post, Poerts' story is verified.

Moreover, according to further compilations of the Redditor, Vile Self stated that the snapped image was from the Xbox One version of the game. Regardless of which version it's from, however, it's already getting dissected. Some speculated that it may be a modification on Fallout 3. A few thought it's a bootleg copy while others suspected that it's a reviewer's copy of the game.

If the last scenario is true, then Vile Self may have acquired some legal headaches for both himself and his friend. Nonetheless, nothing has been confirmed yet and there's no telling whether the leaked image is real because there's no reference point. Hence, until the game comes out on Nov. 10, let's treat everything with skepticism.
