The production of "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" just keeps getting bigger and bigger. With each new news tidbit, fans seem to get more and more psyched for what is turning into the cinematic event of 2016.

This time the rumor from Bleeding Cool reveals that we may see the villain that killed Superman years ago. That's right, Doomsday appearing in the film is the latest rumor to hit the Internet.

If this rumor is true, the mega production from director Zack Snyder will add yet another character to the already crowded roster. Not only does the movie feature Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, it also includes Cyborg and possibly even more heroes setting up a future Justice League of America film. Still, Doomsday appearing could be in the cards as the production of the film continues.

The character of Doomsday is a genetically engineered monster that temporarily killed Superman in the comics in 1992. He even appeared on a season of The CW's "Smallville" as the lead villain. Last year on the "Man of Steel" Blu-Ray, the Doomsday character was teased in the bonus features, but it could all just be a ruse to throw fanboys and girls off the scent of what they are really going to include in the movie.

This rumor mentions that a member of the production has seen designs of the Doomsday character at the production. It should be taken with a grain of salt but fans are eating up anything that comes out of the "Batman v. Superman" camp.

There is no confirmation that this news is the real deal, but it is becoming fun to guess at just what else the film is going to cram into its running time.

With a locked in release date of May 6th, 2016, "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" could hold the future for the DC Universe films. With several false starts and many different efforts being abandoned by Warner Bros., this tentpole film has an awful lot riding on it.

The appearance of Doomsday will certainly not be the last rumor to leak from the set. It certainly is becoming fun to speculate just what is next for the production.
