A press image of the mid-range Verizon LG G Vista has leaked along with the phablet's specs. It will include a 5.7-inch 720p display, Snapdragon 400 processor, and 8-megapixel camera.

Over the last two years we have watched LG get more serious about its smartphone game and the company has put major pressure on longtime rival Samsung in the process. LG made a major announcement in April 2013 when it revealed it would ship its smartphone with a flexible display before the end of the year. This revelation had an impact on Samsung and the two companies began a race to release the first smartphone with a flexible display.

Samsung released the South Korea-only Galaxy Round in October 2013, beating LG's November release of the G Flex by a hair. LG did manage to beat Samsung to market with a Quad HD smartphone display with its new flagship LG G3.

We just reported that Verizon has begun taking pre-orders for the LG G3 and we now know that won't be the only new LG smartphone in Verizon's lineup. The reliable tipster evleaks has posted a new press image of the Verizon LG G Vista along with the phablet's specifications.

The Verizon LG G Vista VS880 will reportedly be targeted at smartphone users who want a display as big as Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 but don't need the high-end specs and expensive price tag.  The smartphone will reportedly feature a 5.7-inch 1280 x 720 HD display and run Android 4.2. It will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor,1.5GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage.

The G Vista will reportedly pack in an 8-megapixel rear camera that can record 1080p Full HD video and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and selfies. LG will reportedly use a large 3,200 mAh battery and as you can see from the image, the phablet's design is virtually identical to the flagship G3 and includes the rear-key volume and power button setup.

The tipster hasn't revealed when we can expect to see the LG G Vista officially launch on Verizon. Once we hear more information on the G Vista we'll report back.
