Fans of the shatterproof Motorola Droid Turbo 2 will be pleased to learn that the smartphone is set to make its way to the UK, albeit under a different moniker - Moto X Force.

Touted as the "phone with the world's first shatterproof display" the Droid Turbo 2 was officially rebranded as the Moto X Force for global consumers as we reported previously. The smartphone released in the U.S. last week and will now make its way to Asia and Europe.

The Moto X Force is now available for preorder in the UK and the 5.4-inch handset will be in your hands as early as Nov. 9.

So what will be the damages you wonder? Purchasing a SIM-free Moto X Force from retailer Handtec will set you back by £497.99 (approximately $768). This price is inclusive of taxes and is for the 32GB variant of the smartphone in black. The retailer gives the expected delivery date as Nov. 9 to preorder the Moto X Force from Handtec head to the retailer's website.

An alternate option is retailer Carphone Warehouse which is offering the SIM-free Moto X Force for £529.99 (approximately $817), making the deal slightly more expensive by comparison. The preorders for the black variant of the smartphone are open and the expected delivery is Nov.10. Carphone Warehouse also has monthly plans for the smartphone which start at £37.50 ($57.82) each month.

The Moto X Force sports the same specs as the Verizon-exclusive Droid Turbo 2. The smartphone has a 5.4-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Motorola claims that the device's screen will not shatter or even crack for at least four years. The drop tests bear testimony to the smartphone's sturdiness and ability to survive accidents.

Under the hood, the handset packs in an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and 3GB of RAM. The Moto X Force also boats a 21MP rear-facing camera with 4K recording capabilities and a 5MP selfie camera. The smartphone also packs in a powerful 3760 mAh battery and 32GB of on-board memory with microSD support.

The smartphone comes with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box and is expected to be updated to the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
