World of Warcraft: Legion is the sixth expansion for the massively popular MMORPG by Blizzard. The expansion was first revealed back in August, and it revealed that Illidan the Betrayer will be making his return alongside the Burning Legion.

At the company's annual BlizzCon, Blizzard revealed a trailer for Legion that featured King Varian Wrynn on a ship that is being attacked by the Burning Legion, along with Lady Sylvanas Windrunner.

The trailer sets the overall tone for Legion, wherein the Alliance and the Horde have seemingly banded together to team up and destroy the Burning Legion, which is a threat to all.

Legion will be kicking off with a 40-person scenario which is evenly split between the Alliance and the Horde in the mission to the tomb of Sargeras on the Broken Isles, which will serve as the setting of the expansion.

The trailer also revealed a new hero class that will be introduced in Legion, namely the Demon Hunter. Modeled after Illidan Stormrage of Warcraft III, the hero class starts players at level 98 and allows them to choose between being a tank or a damage dealer. Demon Hunters are able to change into other forms, and can build bonds with their own Artifacts, which are legendary class-specific weapons that can transform and grow in power while players fight against the Burning Legion.

It was also revealed that Legion will feature six new zones for the Broken Isles, with the progression through them to scale according to the levels of players instead of going through the zones in order. The level cap will be raised to 110 in Legion, and the new style of progression will also allow gamers with characters of different levels to play with each other, and opens up each zone to endgame quests.

According to Blizzard, gamers will be able to choose the missions they want to undertake in Legion, with some of these missions possibly taking days to accomplish. Some of the quests will be specific to certain professions, some will be related to player vs. player, and some will reintroduce minigames.

Legion will also feature several new raids and dungeons, beginning with the seven-boss Emerald Nightmare raid and the 10-boss Suramar Palace. There will be 10 dungeons at the start, with five aimed at leveling up and five for the endgame.

Blizzard revealed at BlizzCon that Legion will be arriving in the summer of next year. Reports, however, claim that a leaked preorder advertisement for Legion showed that the expansion will be released on or before Sept. 21.

The image also revealed some preorder bonuses, such as a Level 100 character boost and early access to the Demon Hunter.

The standard edition of the expansion will come with a price tag of $49.99, while the digital deluxe edition will include an in-game mount, pet and digital content for StarCraft 2 and Diablo 3 for $69.99.
