This season of The Flash has seen Barry (Grant Gustin) go up against bad guys from the multiverse, including the villainous Zoom, who defeated the Flash in last week's episode. However, the bad guys keep coming, and tonight's episode features the return of the super intelligent Gorilla Grodd, who Barry and Team Flash went up against last season.

This time, though, Grodd is even smarter than before and has some sort of dastardly plan in mind for Central City. It seems that the gorilla is busy killing scientists in the city, while trying to collect certain kinds of drugs that enhance intelligence.

A new sneak peek of the episode, titled "Gorilla Warfare," shows Patty (Shantel VanSanten) and Joe (Jesse Martin) discussing the murder of the scientists as well as the DNA of hair found on the scene: of course, before Patty even divulges the information that this hair belongs to a gorilla, Joe knows exactly what they're up against: it's Grodd.

In this clip, the realization hits Joe and he runs into Team Flash headquarters to warn the others that Grodd's back.

Grodd appeared in several episodes last season as the result of experiments done at S.T.A.R. Labs. After the explosion at the Labs, Grodd increased in size and developed psychic abilities. Dr. Harrison Wells, aka Eobard Thawne, (Tom Cavanagh) used Grodd last season to distract Team Flash while he worked on his own villainous plans.

In a recent preview for the new episode, Barry announces that he can't stop this new and improved version of Grodd. However, it looks like he'll have help from an unexpected (and rather disturbing) source.

It looks like Dr. Harrison Wells from Earth-2 will suit up as Reverse Flash and help the Flash take down Gorilla Grodd. Of course, it's not evident that Team Flash can even trust this version of Dr. Wells, although so far, he hasn't done anything to betray that trust, except withhold information about Zoom kidnapping his daughter.

Of course, the Flash, also has the help of Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and his new powers as Vibe. But will it be enough to take on the large ape?

So what else is in store for this season of The Flash? Gustin recently hinted that we could see two Barry Allens, thanks to the multiverse that appeared this season.

"It sounds like we're going to be making an Earth-Two trip in the future at some point this season," said Gustin to Entertainment Weekly. "I don't know which characters are going to be going. I'm pretty sure Barry will be one of them. I don't know if we're going to see his doppelgänger when we go over there. I'd imagine we would."

The Flash airs on The CW on Tuesdays.
