The highly anticipated Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro now stars in an official teaser image, confirming its metallic build and fingerprint scanner ahead of the big unveiling on Nov. 24.

Xiaomi continues to grow in popularity and attract more customers because it offers quality devices with good specifications at affordable price points. Xiaomi devices are notably cheaper than some rival offerings with comparable specs, and the company is among the best-selling smartphone OEMs in China.

Less than a week before the Redmi Note 2 Pro finally makes its official debut, Xiaomi is now boosting anticipation for the upcoming smartphone with an exciting new teaser image. Previous rumors already hinted at a full-metal body and a fingerprint scanner for the device, but no official confirmation was available up until now.

Lin Bin, Xiaomi president and co-founder, announced himself that the company plans an unveiling for Nov. 24, and posted the teaser image seen above on his Weibo account. The executive doesn't specify the smartphone by name, but it's safe to assume that it's the Redmi Note 2 Pro.

The teaser clearly shows the premium metal build, a sleek form factor and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for extra security. The image doesn't show the entire smartphone, but it does seem to match recently leaked images of the Redmi Note 2 Pro rear panel.

Lin Bin made no mention of the smartphone's specs at this point, but a recent TENAA listing unveiled several details. According to TENAA, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro will feature a 5.5-inch full HD display (1080p), an octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor known as the Helio X10, and 2 GB of RAM. Other specs include 16 GB of storage, a 13-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter, and a 3,060 mAh battery to power it all up. On the software front, the handset is expected to run Android Lollipop with Xiaomi's own MIUI on top.

The specs remain unconfirmed at this point, but it will not take long until we have some solid information on the matter. With the big unveiling set for Nov. 24, we'll get the official scoop straight from the source in just a few short days.
