Fallout 4 is a great game, and it shows from all the positive reviews from critics and gamers alike. However, it has many flaws, and one of them is the dumbed-down dialogue interface.

This is one of the main reasons why a mod was created to make it feel a lot more like Fallout 3, but while it should give players the feeling of the old days, do not expect a complete overhaul of how things work.

The current dialogue system in Fallout 4 only shows yes, no, sarcasm, more information and some paraphrasing. For some reason, Bethesda chose to follow the path of the Mass Effect games instead of doing its own thing, messing up the interface and the entire system in the process.

This new system shows what the player is going to say, something that is far less confusing and more to the point. It also makes it easier to decide which option to choose. As it turns out, the dialogue used by your character is in the game's text files, so it is quite confusing to us as to why Bethesda chose not to use it.

Another thing we liked is the numbered list; this is similar to how things are done in Fallout 3: New Vegas. Yes, the original design is just excellent as well, but for those who want the retro feel, this mod should be right up there as one of the first to download.

The mod was created by NexusMods user Cirosan. It's an English version of the Russian interface revamp by shadwar, another modder. We understand it comes with a few bugs so keep that in mind before downloading it. Furthermore, these problems should be fixed in the short terms since the mod is currently in beta 3.

Also, the mod works for all dialogue boxes, but not for when it comes down to dismissing companions. We expect this to change as more work is done on it to make the mod close to perfect.

Fallout 4 is now available on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. The game received a lot of praise for being a solid entry in the franchise, but many issues from old games are still present.
