The Force is strong this holiday season.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is coming out in theaters in less than a month, Star Wars Battlefront for PC, PS4, and Xbox One is already out, and now Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes for mobile is here, too.

Developed by Capital Games and published by Electronic Arts, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is available on both iPhone and Android devices. It's a free-to-play, RPG-style turn-based battle game where the goal is to collect all the characters in the game, and of course, battle it out with

At the moment, the game includes as many as 60 characters from the original film trilogy, the films from the prequel, the animated TV series, and even a few from "The Force Awakens." More are expected to be added in the future especially with the release of the next film in December. Right now, each card that represents each character comes with unique attacks and abilities. For example, choosing Chewbacca allows a player to invoke Wookiee Rage and playing as Darth Sidious enables the use of Force Lightning.

Picking the right characters and knowing their strengths and weaknesses is integral to strategically setting up the right team of heroes (or villains) to win battles and earn more character cards.

In fact, players can mix and match characters from both the light side and dark side — it may be the only time we'll see Jedi fighting alongside Storm Troopers. Moreover, players don't need the big name heroes and villains to win. Using a team of generic Jedi and at least Chewie is enough to beat down the Dark Side of the Force.

Unlike other turn-based, card combat games like Hearthstone or Magic: The Gathering, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes really doesn't require much complicated strategy at all. If there's a reason to keep playing the game, it won't be for the challenge but for building up character cards to beat friends and, of course, collecting as many Star Wars characters as possible.

A nice touch added to the game are the iconic locations from the "Star Wars" universe like Tatooine that are used as background settings for missions and battles.
