The results of a survey conducted by FiveThirtyEight, a polling site, reveal that even Darth Vader is scoring higher favorability ratings than the candidates running for the U.S. presidency in 2016.

FiveThirtyEight conducted a poll to judge the opinions of Americans on characters from the Star Wars universe. Luke Skywalker came away with the highest favorable rating at 93 percent, with Han Solo coming in at a close second at 92 percent. Princess Leia Organa, Obi Wan Kenobi and Yoda then follow, all at a favorable rating of 91 percent.

The pair of robots, R2-D2 and C-3PO, follow suit, with favorability ratings of 90 percent and 85 percent, respectively.

At the bottom of the favorability ratings is Jar Jar Binks, scoring only 29 percent and lower than the favorable rating for Emperor Palpatine at 31 percent. Jar Jar Binks also scored an unfavorability rating of 37 percent.

"You read that correctly. Jar Jar Binks has a lower favorability rating than the actual personification of evil in the galaxy," FiveThirtyEight lifestyle lead writer Walt Hickey says.

News site writer Christopher Ingraham then said that the net favorability of Jar Jar Binks at -8 is still higher than the net favorability rating of the U.S. Congress, which currently stands at -65.

Darth Vader is the most polarizing figure in the survey, scoring a favorable rating of 58 percent and an unfavorable rating of 30 percent.

Darth Vader's net favorability rating at +28, however, is higher than the 2016 presidential candidate with the highest favorability rating, which is Hillary Clinton at +19.

Clinton has the same favorability rating as Boba Fett, which is the bounty hunter responsible for trapping Han Solo in a block of carbonite.

Darth Vader may have sliced off his own son's arm and caused the explosion of a whole planet, but the survey numbers suggest that, if Darth Vader was real and announced that he was running for the U.S. presidency, he would immediately be the front-runner to be the next leader of the country.

"Meanwhile President Obama is polling just two favorability points below Emperor Palpatine, Lord of the Sith. Make of that what you will," Ingraham concludes.

FiveThirtyEight's poll also finds out that the Star Wars movie seen by the most people is Star Wars: Episode V — The Empire Strikes Back, while the movie seen by the least people is Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith.

The poll also reveals that the best movie of the series is Star Wars: Episode V — The Empire Strikes Back, while the worst movie of the series is Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones.
