Street Fighter 5 is coming to PlayStation 4 and PC next year, and guess what? The game will support Valve's SteamOS Linux-based operating system, along with the SteamOS controller. 

Capcom says it is working closely with Valve to ensure the SteamOS controller support is right on the money and without problems. Players will be able to try out the controller in the upcoming beta, but only those playing on a Windows PC. 

For the folks who are interested, the beta test will run from Dec. 18 to Dec. 20, that is right throughout the weekend. 

Street Fighter 5 is the newest title in the franchise, and the first to come out on a current video game console. The title is exclusive to PlayStation 4 on the console side of things. From what we have gathered, it would seem the game is 100 percent exclusive to Sony's console, and Xbox One owners are left in the dust. 

According to the game's description on Steam, fans can expect several new characters, and the return of some of the regular fighters such as Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li. Street Fighter 5 will include new battle mechanics that will improve players' ability to strategize during a fight.

The visuals should look impressive due to the use of Unreal Engine 4, an engine that is seen as the best commercial video game engine available today. 

When it comes down to leaderboards, the game will track players' careers. Everything will then be integrated with Capcom's pro tour, the company's premier league destination for professional fighting tournaments. 

Players on the PC should bear in mind that they will require to have Windows 7 64-bit, Intel Core i3-4160 @ 3.60GHz, 6GB RAM, and NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 480, GTX 570, GTX 670, or better graphic card to play the game. This is just the minimum requirement. 

We should also point out that Street Fighter 5 will support cross-platform play between PlayStation 4 and PC.
