In celebration of Beats officially becoming part of the Apple family, Beats has released a funny video with Siri and the Beats Pill wireless speaker.

The video advertisement is called "Today is the day. Invitation Only," and it makes note of the fact that Apple and Beats have joined forces.

The video also appears to poke fun at the fact that Siri doesn't always understand what the user is trying to say. The video ends with Siri saying "Sorry, I didn't get that."

The rest of the video involves two Beats Pills talking about the recent acquisition, at which point Siri enters the conversation to tell them that Dr. Dre is hosting a party in celebration. Unfortunately for the Beats Pills, the party is invitation only.

The $3 billion acquisition of Beats by Apple was finally made official recently after Apple got approval for the buyout from U.S. regulators and the European Union. The European Union approval of the deal came only three days ago, and Vivendi, a France-based media company, issued a press release saying that Apple had bought Vivendi's stake in Beats for $404 million.

Apple also updated its website with the addition of a page called "Welcome to the family," focusing on Beats.

The next step for Apple and Beats is for a deeper product integration to take place between the two companies.

Beats was founded in 2006 by rapper and music producer Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. A year later a deal was struck between Beats and Monster Inc. to develop the "Beats by Dr. Dre" headphones.

HTC purchased around half of Beats in 2011 for $300 million, after which a number of HTC devices were released with Beats branding and music capabilities. Beats bought back HTC's stake in the company in 2012.

Apple's acquisition of Beats includes Beats' hardware decision, Beats Electronics, and Beats Music, Beats' music subscription service.

Both Dre and Iovine will serve as executive's within Apple, and Ian Rogers, the head of Beats' subscription service, is being instated as Apple's head of iTunes Radio.

The headphones market in general is worth around $1 billion, and Beats' market share is expected to substantially increase due to the company being backed by Apple.

The video released today is the first ad to be released in partnership between the two companies.

The reference to Dr. Dre's party appears to be a tongue-in-cheek reference to Dr. Dre's premature announcement celebration that was caught on video in May.
