With the right set, DJs have the ability to get the crowd going for a nonstop dance party. However, the only way to capture the experience is by recording their point-of-view using their smartphones or standalone cameras, which can take away from really living in the moment.

Now, DJs can record hands-free from their vantage point using the new headphones unveiled by the audio electronics company Altec Lansing at CES 2016 in Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Altec Lansing's new DVR DJ-Style Headphones are equipped with a built-in 1080p/30fps DVR camera to record while handling the turntables, and allow the DJ to stream the video in real-time to the closest flat screen so that the crowd can be part of a more immersive experience.

To record using DJ-Style Headphones, the user simply presses a button, and the DVR camera that is embedded in the ear cup will start recording through its front-facing lens. Along with streaming the video via Wi-Fi, the headphones also have 8 GB of internal memory as well as an external microSDHC card with up to 32 GB to store and download video after their set is over.

Altec Lansing's new headphones come with instructions for downloading a video-editing app for iOS, Android and Windows called Magisto that automatically chooses the best parts of raw footage and allows the user to add in music, themes and effects of their choice. This means the DJ can capture and create mini-movies with no manual editing to be shared on their social media pages, blogs and websites with ease.

The DJ-Style Headphones have a built-in rechargeable Lithium-ion battery with up to seven hours of battery life, and they fold for portability and come with a carrying case. They are also equipped with a microphone with wind cancellation, along with song navigation and telephony buttons. There is also TTS for voice activation and spoken caller ID by name capabilities, so that they can act as a personal listening device when used with a smartphone.

Altec Lansing's DVR DJ-Style Headphones will start shipping in late Q2 for the retail price of $199.99.
