Chief among a slew of product unveils from SanDisk at CES this week is the Extreme 510 Portable SSD, a solid state drive designed to take some serious punishment. The storage accessory is rated IP55 for water and dust resistance and features a rubber bumper designed to take a bit of a beating.

The drive is designed for photographers and videographers, positioning it as a direct competitor for those orange bumper LaCie drives that are practically ubiquitous around video production studios.

The 510 is now available in a 480GB version, which will run $250. That price will also get you SanDisk’s proprietary SecureAccess software with built-on 128-bit encryption and a two-year warranty, in case you still manage to wreck the thing.

Also new from SanDisk for the show are two big capacity bumps for the the Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0 and the Connect Wireless Stick (the latter of which we looked at at IFA late last year). Those drives are getting storage increase to 128- and 200GB, respectively.
