While players roam around the fictional island of Medici in Just Cause 3, the developers behind the title, Avalanche, are hard at work on a new expansion for the game.

The new expansion, called "Sky Fortress," will add additional in-game content to the title, along with new missions. This is all part of several packs that comprise the Air, Land and Sea Expansion Pass announced by the developer last year.

"The first pack, 'Sky Fortress,' which is the 'Air' pack, is nearing completion, and will bring new missions, features and other exciting surprises to the skies of Medici," writes Avalanche on the game's Steam page. "We're play testing this content right now so watch this space for more news on this very soon."

Of course, there's no release date given for "Sky Fortress," but Avalanche is also hard at work on another update for the game, too, which will fix known issues, as well as provide improvements in gameplay.

"For those of you that are still having some issues with your game, rest assured that we're working on optimisations, bug fixes, performance enhancements and improvements, and we'll continue to roll these out as soon as they're ready, with the next patch expected later in the month," writes Avalanche. "We're doing everything we can to get to the bottom of all the issues that are reported to us."

However, Just Cause 3 players get something today, too: expect new additions to arrive on the Steam store, the PlayStation Network and the Xbox store that will let players add new weapons and vehicles to the game. However, for those players who preordered the game, it's all stuff they already have.

Just Cause 3 released late last year for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The open world adventure game doesn't just let players explore Medici on foot, but also allows players to soar over the island with grappling hooks and parachutes. The game also includes a wingsuit, which allows players to fly over the world faster.

The game follows Rico Rodriguez six years after the events of Just Cause 2. Rico returns to his homeland, Medici, looking to stop a dictator who plans on not just controlling the island, but also the world.
