GM is setting the GMC Canyon at a starting price of $21,880 while the Chevrolet Colorado has the starting price of $20,995. The latter includes a destination charge of $895 and will arrive at Chevrolet dealerships in the fall.

The Chevrolet Colorado has standard features that include a horsepower of 200, a four-cylinder engine of 2.5 liters, and a six-speed manual transmission. Other features are a locking tailgate, a rearview camera, and power windows with express up.

Consumers have various options upon purchasing the Colorado model. These options would include an hp of 305, a V6 engine of 3.6 liters, a six-speed automatic transmission, and connectivity features such as 4G LTE and Wi-Fi hotspot. It also has safety features such as the lane departure warning and forward collision alert. For owners who like to organize and carry equipment such as paddle boards and bikes, they can use the vehicle's GearOn accessory system.

Other models that belong in the Chevrolet Colorado lineup are the midlevel 2015 Chevrolet Colorado LT crew cab and the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado Z71 crew cab. The former, which starts at $27,985 inclusive of shipping, is built with a two-wheel drive and a box size of 5 feet. The latter, which is priced at $34,990 inclusive of shipping, is a 4x4 drive and has a box size of 5 feet.

There are two available cab configurations. The extended cab uses a 6-foot box while the crew cab has either 5 or 6 foot boxes.

The GMC Canyon's slightly higher starting price can be justified with the vehicle's unique features. For one thing, it comes with LED headlights, a driver's seat with four-way power, and 16-inch aluminum wheels.

The SLE trim model starts at $27,520. It features aluminum interior trim, EZ lift and lower tailgate, OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, soft-touch instrument panel and door pads, and diagonal touchscreen of 8 inches with IntelliLink infotainment system.

The Canyon SLT crew cab is a 4WD short box model that starts at $37,875. It has leather-trimmed seating, 18-inch polished cast-aluminum wheels, automatic climate control, automatic locking rear differential, and remote start.

Along with the starting price, the base Canyon includes a destination charge of $925.

According to GM, the redesigned Colorado and Canyon model are meant to target the Toyota Tacoma. So far, Toyota has not released its 2015 Tacoma pricing. The base Tacoma regular cab model of 2014 has a starting price of $19,010 and a destination charge of $885.

GM did not retail the Colorado as well as the Canyon in 2013 and 2014. The last models were built in August 2012. More details on the Colorado pricing and fuel economy estimates from EPA shall be available as the launching gets closer.
