The LG G3 Stylus will not, in fact, be aimed at competing with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4, as speculation suggested after the device was leaked in a video.

While LG has remained quiet about the device and the video has been removed from YouTube, many are wondering if the G3 Stylus is intended to go up against the Galaxy Note 4, which is likely going to be launched within a month.

When the LG G3 Stylus is eventually released, it will one of only a handful of devices to include a stylus as an input method, which is what prompted the thought that it could compete with the Galaxy Note 4 in the first place.

The stylus in the device will be used more for normal writing and touching rather than as a high-powered productivity tool as it is in the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and is it will likely be in the Galaxy Note 4.

Apart from the fact that it includes a stylus and a 5.7-inch display, little is known about the LG G3 Stylus as far as specs go. We do know that it is expected to launch this month, and will help fill a gap in the market for midrange phablets.

Because of this news, it seems as though Samsung will remain the king of the phablet market for some time, with the company set to release the Galaxy Note 4 in the next month. Despite the Galaxy Note 4 being set to take the phablet world be storm, analysts are suggesting that the device will not be enough to turn the company's declining profits around.

The company is, however, getting ready to launch another device that may help turn in a larger profit for the year -- the Samsung Galaxy Alpha.

The Galaxy Alpha is expected to be similar to the Samsung Galaxy S5, with a smaller, metallic body and slightly lower specs. The device (SM-G850F) was apparently listed in an FCC filing and got FCC approval, which indicates it will be released outside of Korea, with the device expected to launch Aug. 13 and be on sale in stores before the end of the month. It is expected to be released in Europe in the third quarter.

The listing states the device has a body measuring 133 x 67 mm, fitting the description of a device with a 4.8-inch display, which is what is expected from the Alpha. While the listing did not say what the width of the device would be, a photo that was leaked earlier this week shows that the device is slimmer than the 7.6-mm wide iPhone5S.

The Galaxy Alpha is also expected to include a Samsung Exynos 5433 processor, 2 GB of RAM, and a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera.
