Legendary Entertainment has released the first TV spot for the upcoming film "Warcraft," which is based on the popular video game franchise Warcraft.

The first TV spot is mainly made of the film's trailer that was released in November 2015. The long-awaited trailer showed the first glimpse of Azeroth and the fearsome Orc warriors.

Duncan Jones, the director of the sci-fiction movies "Moon" and "Source Code," has directed "Warcraft." The movie stars Clancy Brown, Toby Kebbel, Ben Foster, Paula Patton and Dominic Cooper.

The film was announced in 2006 as a partnership between Legendary Pictures and Blizzard Entertainment - the game developer of Warcraft. Filming of the fantasy film started in January 2014 and it concluded in May 2014.

"Warcraft" was expected to be released in December 2015 but the release date has been shifted twice. Finally, Universal Pictures is all set to release the film on June 10, 2016.

The film is based on the initial encounters between the orcs and humans. Jones has put a lot of effort in making the film very similar to what "Warcraft" appears in the video game series.

"duncan jones you already were a great director with moon and source code but this looks something special ....the world looks stunning...that shot of orgrrim was fantastic.....and travis fimmel as anduin lothar looks like badass....man it looks like proper adaptation of a video game...," commented a user on YouTube.

"Watching this on my large screen In full HD, it is BREATHTAKING. The CGI looks so good. It does NOT look as good on a phone or tablet, so highly recommend watching it on a large screen in 1080. Also the full trailer in theaters in 3D looked INCREDIBLE," said another user.

The Warcraft franchise has a huge fan base and many of them have been waiting for years for a "Warcraft" film. Blizzard Entertainment announced in early 2015 that World of Warcraft has had more than 100 million subscribers, who have played the over its lifetime.

While it is expected that a large number of video game lovers will turn up to watch the upcoming movie but Jones feel that the film should also attract those who have never played the game before.

"There's a huge fanbase for this game but it would be wrong to assume they are all going to turn up," said Jones. "There needs to be a broader audience. I don't think the film would be as good if you were filling it with in-jokes and storylines that assumed too much knowledge."
