There's no denying that Square Enix is one of the most prolific third-party developers to ever work with the PlayStation hardware. Despite releasing six titles on the Super Nintendo, Final Fantasy has been known as a PlayStation franchise ever since the spectacular seventh entry - and then there's Tomb Raider, whose initial installment on the original PlayStation helped put both Sony and Square Enix on the map.

And, if you somehow own a PlayStation system and haven't tried any of Square Enix's classic games...well, now is a good time to catch up.

Sony has launched the latest PlayStation Store sale, and many of Square Enix's best titles are up for grabs. This isn't some bargain-bin offering, either: most of the sale is dedicated to discounting a slew of different Final Fantasy titles, including iconic entries like Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy Origins. Considering that most of these classic titles are $5 a pop, now is a great time for new fans to jump in without breaking the bank.

Of course, Square Enix isn't just about Final Fantasy: a number of the studio's other JRPGs are on-sale as well, with titles like Parasite Eve, Legend of Mana and Drakengard 3 leading the pack. If you've still got your PlayStation 3 plugged in, these titles are more than worth booting it back up.

On the PlayStation 4 side of things, the deals are a bit limited - but there are still some great buys here. Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is one of the best action-adventure games in recent memory, and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has quickly spawned one of the largest, most dedicated MMO fanbases in recent memory. If you're looking for something a bit more chaotic, Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition may be right up your alley.

Let's put it this way: if you're hurting for games during the post-Christmas slump, the Square Enix sale over at the PlayStation Store may be just what you've been looking for. You can find all of the deals over at Sony's official website.
