Pebble has given its Time watch a significant facelift in a bid to make the timepiece smarter with a new software update rolled out Wednesday. Time watches are now treated with a ton of new, neat features to smile about, ranging from new health-tracking watch faces, custom replies to SMS and more.

"We're happy to share a healthy dose of features and improvements bundled in with today's Pebble software updates," says Pebble in a blog post. "From a better Pebble Health experience to expanded messaging options, there's something special for every smartwatch in the Pebble family."

With the software update onboard, you don't need to search deep into the Health app for your health data. Rather, new watch faces will surface showing off your health stats. Pebble, however, says that only one face, which it calls Stride, will initially be arriving on the smartwatch, with more to come out on the Pebble appstore down the road.

For iOS users, they can now send out canned responses to received messages.

Android, users, however, can now reply to incoming calls with an SMS. They can also send an emoji, voice note or preset message. On top of that, they can start off conversations from their Time-series watch by means of the Send Text app, very much like how it is done on the Apple Watch.

For a much better consumer experience, Pebble has likewise packed speedier transitions or animations into Time and Time Steel smartwatches, which makes them far more gorgeous.

Pebble has also enhanced the Watch-Only Mode feature. Apart from rocking an improved look, your smartwatch will now only display the time when it's about to run out of juice.

What's more, Pebble Health tracking is now more precise than in the past. It can now show distance in kilometers. You will need to toggle settings from the smartphone app, however.

To get these new features, you should have your Pebble Time app updated to the most recent version, 3.6 for iPhone and 3.9 for Android. Needless to say, you also have to update your smartwatch to version 3.9 of Pebble's firmware.
