A certain Google Project Ara tablet, with the model number A8A01, has been uncovered on GFXBench suggesting it will come fitted with a 13.8-inch screen, Snapdragon 810, an Android Marshmallow and more.

In case you haven't heard of Google's Project Ara yet, this is the company's effort to build a modular device, enabling users to exchange the device's screen, camera, memory, processor and battery hardware for different modules.

Google failed to launch a pilot project last year, as initially thought. However, the company says it will start rolling out a test within this year. Now, it would appear that someone from Google has already begun testing the device, if the GFXBench listing proves to be true.

Fans of modular devices should not get their hopes up, though, as the details listed on this GFXBench results have yet to be confirmed.

To start off, there's no question this 13.8-inch Project Ara tablet runs an Android Marshmallow operating system as it is a device from the Mountain View-based company.

The listing describes the tablet rocking a 1,920 x 1,080p screen and powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 paired with an Adreno 430 GPU.

This purported Project Ara tablet also comes with regular sensors, including compass, Bluetooth, GPS, gyroscope, pedometer, light sensor, accelerometer, barometer, Wi-Fi and NFC (Near Field Communication).

What strikes the listing as odd is that even though the tablet is said to sport 3 GB of RAM, it also shows that it will house an internal storage of 10 GB and 25 GB. Rumor has it, though, that these could be the modular parts that you can swap out whenever you want.

While we have not yet heard from Google about the release date of this device, what we know so far is that Google's Project Ara division pushed out a tweet last summer saying that the product launch would be postponed in 2016.

In any case, we might get a lot more than we are expecting at the I/O developer conference that is slated to kick off on May 18 this year.

As always, take this story with a requisite dose of skepticism.
