At the 2016 Chicago Auto Show, the Ram truck division of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) took the wraps off an updated version of the off-road pickup Power Wagon.

Ram has revamped the vehicle and the 2017 Power Wagon off-road not only has new updated exteriors, but the pickups' interiors have also received a makeover which impart a more rugged feel to the vehicle.

"The Ram Power Wagon is an off-road, all-access pass, removing the limitations, instilling confidence and allowing owners to reach areas of recreation and lifestyle not attainable with any other pickup. The 2017 Ram Power Wagon delivers to those who travel into extreme terrain, while providing the towing and payload capability required in a heavy-duty truck," noted Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand and Ram Brand, FCA - Global.

Like the Ram 1500 Rebel, the 2017 Power Wagon boasts a new grille that has a big "RAM" letter badge in silver. The bigger grille which is blacked out also has bezel projector headlamps in black, which have LED marker lights.

The black color theme is also seen on the car's badges, mirrors, wheel-arch moldings, as well as lower body panel. This creates a characteristic appearance for the pickup. The replacement of the chrome with black trims is a change that will be welcomed by most customers. The Ram bade on the nose of the car in silver is the only bling one can espy.

The off-road also has plush interiors which see an upgrade. The material on the seats, the steering wheel, dashboard and rubber mats have all been updated to offer a more suitable feel to the car. The fact that the refreshed car is now two-toned instead of multiple shades is also a pleasant upgrade.

The Power Wagon continues to sport the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine, which is able to produce 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque.

The off-road pickup has a 66RFE sic-speed automatic, as well as a manually-shifted transfer case. It still boasts a 12,000-pound Warn winch at the front and can make its way through 30 inches of water and tow 10,030 pounds.

The fact that Ram will not be offering a diesel version of the 2017 Power Wagon may disappoint many enthusiasts. Moreover, the company also did not divulge the details of the 2017 Power Wagon's price point.

The 2017 Ram Power Wagon continues to remain a tough cookie, but is just a tad more chic now.
