The rumors pertaining to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 are gaining traction and latest speculations suggest that the company will also introduce an Ultrasonic Cover for the upcoming phablet.

Samsung usually launches a number of accessories such as flip covers, screen protectors, wireless charging covers and more for its smartphones. In keeping with this philosophy, a new report suggests that the company will go a step further and launch an Ultrasonic Cover for its upcoming Galaxy Note 4. This cover will assist people with partial or full visual impairment.

SamMobile cites its reliable sources and reports that the rumored Ultrasonic Cover will have an ultrasonic sensor that will detect objects near the user of the smartphone. The sensor will then transmit signals to the smartphone, which will help the user in moving around easily. While the Ultrasonic Cover may not be an alternate to other assisting items such as a walking cane or guide dogs, the rumored cover can be used in tandem with other mobility tools.

According to the report, the Ultrasonic Cover will also allow users to select the range of ultrasonic signals from three levels: short, middle and long. However, if the user increases the ultrasonic signal range to long, then the width covered by the ultrasonic sensor will reduce.

SamMobile has also obtained a product description for the Samsung Ultrasonic Cover, which says "we encourage you to train yourself with how to use the Product and be sure to have fully understood how the Product works correctly."

Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 2 and the Galaxy Note 3 at or near the IFA event. This year the IFA event is slated to be held September 5 onwards. Samsung has already announced its Unpacked Episode 2 event, which will take place simultaneously in three different cities: New York, Beijing and Berlin, on September 3 this year.

Samsung has not yet officially confirmed the Ultrasonic Cover or the Galaxy Note 4. However, market observers believe that the company will launch the highly-anticipated handset and its Ultrasonic Cover at the September 3 Unpacked Episode 2 event.

Thousands of people throughout the world suffer from visual disabilities. A smartphone that can also act as an guiding tool may attract many visually impaired customers. Samsung's arch-rival Apple is also anticipated to launch the iPhone 6 in September this year. With competition intensifying between the two rivals, an accessory such as the Ultrasonic Cover for the Galaxy Note 4 may divert potential iPhone 6 customers to the Samsung offering.
