Star Wars Battlefront has received a new map, but that's just the beginning of the game's latest update.

The new Twilight on Hoth map has been added to the game free as promised, adding yet another battlefield for players to duke it out on in the game's Walker Assault, Supremacy, Turning Point, Blast, Fighter Squadron, Drop Zone and Heroes vs. Villains game modes.

That's just the tip of the iceberg. The more than 4-GB update features a number of tweaks to various vehicles, weapons and Star Cards as well. Looks like EA decided the nerfs to Homing Shot in the last Battlefront patch were a little too severe, as it has slightly reduced the time required to lock-on to enemies with the weapon. The Wookie Bowcaster is losing some of its splash damage but is becoming much more powerful on a per-projectile basis. Ion Torpedo's will move faster and turn faster to keep up with aerial vehicles and the Cycler Rifle is seeing some improvements in the form of increased bullet speed and increased movement speed while aiming.

It looks like the painfully overpowered A-Wing is being addressed in this patch as well. Quick, nimble and with the ability to become invincible for short periods of time, these fighters put anything in the Imperial arsenal to shame. Thankfully Dice thinks so, too, as it is increasing the vehicle's hit box to make the craft easier to bring down. That should go nicely with the new changes that have all primary weapons fire dealing 10 percent more damage to aerial vehicles. Speaking of vehicles, players will find that AT-ATs have had their health adjusted on the various maps featured in the Walker Assault mode, with the walker on Forest of Endor receiving a 20 percent health increase.

So far these have all been gameplay tweaks, but given how Star Wars Battlefront is one of the best-looking games available, it only makes sense that Dice would continue to offer more visual updates as well. In this patch, players will find a new film grain filter has been added that can be adjusted up to 200 percent.
