Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is not happy with what his employees are up to, as some of them scratched out "Black Lives Matter" and replaced it with "All Lives Matter" on the company's signature wall in Menlo Park, California.

Of course, Facebook is not going to stand for it, starting an investigation to resolve the sensitive matter.

Zuckerberg released a memo regarding the incident on a Facebook page that's meant to be only for the employees' eyes. Gizmodo got ahold of said statement, which denounces the "malicious" and "unacceptable" actions of the culprit who is yet to be identified.

"There are specific issues affecting the black community in the United States, coming from a history of oppression and racism. 'Black lives matter' doesn't mean other lives don't – it's simply asking that the black community also achieves the justice they deserve," Zuckerberg says.

The wall in question is where everyone at the company can express themselves and write their thoughts for their fellow workers to see. Now that it has been defaced in a way, it could be said that this Facebook tradition's history has an unnecessary smudge.

"We've never had rules around what people can write on our walls. We expect everybody to treat each other with respect," the CEO continues.

To add insult to injury, this occurred with impeccably bad timing, as a couple of African-American students from the San Francisco Bay area are scheduled to pay a visit to the headquarters, not to mention it's Black History Month.

Zuckerberg is also encouraging all his employees to attend a meeting about Black Lives Matter next week so that they would all learn what the movement is really all about. It could perhaps prevent something similar from happening again at the company, but it's unlikely enough to change a person's opinion and viewpoint.

Diversity is also an issue that the company hopes to fix. As of right now, it's dominated by white people. In the entire staff, only 2 percent are black and 3 percent are Hispanic, whereas the number of white employees is measured at 55 percent.

Facebook has yet to comment.
