Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice: if you say it three times, the ghost with the most appears.

He will appear — in Beetlejuice 2, as confirmed in an interview by director Tim Burton. So, get ready to dance to "The Banana Boat Song" again, because it's official: Beetlejuice 2 will finally happen.

Rumors about a sequel started running rampant after an August 2015 interview with actress Winona Ryder, who spoke about a follow-up to the cult classic movie.

"I think I can confirm it," Ryder said to Seth Meyers on Late Night. "It was very hush-hush top secret ... but then (Tim Burton) was doing some press for 'Big Eyes' and and he did an on-camera interview and he said, 'Oh yeah, we're doing it, and Winona's going to be in it.' ... If he said it, I can say it."

Beetlejuice himself, Michael Keaton, followed that up, though, with a statement that he did not know anything about a sequel. However, Burton cleared up the rumors by confirming that the movie will happen and that Keaton will reprise his role in Beetlejuice 2.

"The film is a go and has been approved by the Warner Bros. team, we have talked with the cast members we wanted for the film and they are all on board, this includes both Winona and Michael," Burton said to Showbiz Spy. "We have the script in hand[,] everything is in place [and] all we need to do now is get ready to start filming."

There is no word yet on the new movie's plot, and it's likely that Warner Bros. will keep it as hush-hush as possible until it ramps up promotion for a release. However, we do know that Seth Grahame-Smith (Dark Shadows, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) and David Katzenberg (The Goldbergs) will serve as script writers.

Meanwhile, Burton will soon find himself busy promoting Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, a film based on a young adult novel by Ransom Riggs that releases in September. That movie stars Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Ella Purnell, Allison Janney, Terence Stamp, Rupert Everett, Kim Dickens, Judi Dench and Samuel L. Jackson.
