Fans already know that a "Star Wars" spin-off film is set before "Star Wars: A New Hope" following the life and times Han Solo, and we also know that actor Harrison Ford is neither involved in the film nor knows anything that is planned for it.

The production has reportedly received more than 2,500 auditions — actual and taped ones — from very eager actors gunning for the role, and now it seems there is finally a short-list for the role of young Han.

Three names were revealed but there are a few more equally talented actors in the running. The three actors whose names were revealed include Alden Ehrenreich, Taron Egerton and Jack Reynor. These three were reportedly tested in London during the weekend but the sources did not specify what kind of test was done.

It seems that the production, which will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, are close to choosing its young Han and the three actors above were among the 10 actors who have already met with the directors. This means that they are most likely among the top choices. Although Disney neither confirmed nor denied the news, if the audition for the role is in its final stages, the studio or Lucasfilm will make the announcement once a final choice is made.

Other actors who have reportedly met with Lord and Miller are Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort and Emory Cohen so it is really tough to determine who would wear Han's leather vest and get to share the screen with young Chewie.

There is one character who knows the answer or more specifically, knows Han's eyes, but we doubt she will give any spoilers.

The young Han Solo spin-off is set to begin filming in January 2017 and is scheduled for release in 2018.
