If the rumors are true, then like Apple, major smartphone manufacturers will also be getting on the dual-camera trend that's coming our way later this year.

Unlike Apple, however, and its sleek shroud of mystery ever cloaking its next iPhone, Huawei is a bit more explicit with what it has in store for us with the upcoming Huawei P9

In the latest teaser for its next flagship device, the P9, the Chinese company shows off two camera lenses encircled within the loops of the letter "P" and the number "9" surrounded by a black background.

We've seen this style before, too. LG did it with its "always-on" feature for its modular flagship device, the G5. HTC did it too, and even more similarly to Huawei, since the Taiwanese company is also boasting a "world class" and "world's first" camera setup on it's next HTC 10 smartphone.

It is, nonetheless, an eye-catching teaser coming from Huawei, whose smartphone game has risen of late. Most recently, Huawei worked with Google on what is arguably the best-made Nexus ever, the Nexus 6P.

Now that Huawei's twin camera setup for the P9 have been pretty much confirmed, the other rumor circulating about its cameras being powered by Leica is also up in the air. If true, and we're hoping it's more than just marketing gimmick using the Leica brand in name only, Huawei could have a winner on their hands.

Besides the camera, the P9 has also been rumored to use a 5.2-inch Quad HD display, Huawei's own Kirin-based chipset, 64GB of storage, and either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. In addition, like the P8, the P9 is also expected to have two other variants: a "P9 Lite" and a "P9 Max."

Other rumored but highly expected features include a fingerprint scanner on the rear just like the Nexus 6P, at least a 3,000 mAh battery, an Android 6.0 Marshmallow software highly customized with Huawei's EMUI on top, and all in a slim 6.4mm thin package.

The price? Probably around the $500 mark. Of course, besides the confirmed dual-camera setup coming from Huawei's own teaser, the rest of the specs and features are still yet to be confirmed.

We won't have to wait too long to find out though. Huawei is said to be holding an event in early April in London, where it should unwrap the P9.
