The highly-successful animated television sitcom "Bob's Burgers" reached a new audience in a different medium with the release of its' comic book debut on Wednesday, Aug, 28.

Thanks to a partnership between Dynamite Entertainment and Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products, the show will be translated to comics with the same humor and edge that made the show work in the first place.

"We could not be more pleased to add Bob's Burgers to the our line of comics," said Barrucci, CEO of Dynamite Entertainment. "It's stylish and hilarious, a feel-good concept that can be both heartwarming and mischievous at the same time. When we told our team that we were approaching Fox for the license, everyone lit up at the opportunity. We look forward to working with our partners at Fox to put out a fantastic product that will appeal to readers of all ages."

The premiere issue of "Bob's Burgers" is compiled as an anthology of short stories about each of the main characters. According to David Pepose of Newsrama, the book works despite lacking the comic timing and familial conflicts provided by the voice actors as Bob Belcher (H.Jon Benjamin), Linda Belcher (John Roberts), Tina Belcher (Dan Mintz), Gene Belcher (Eugene Mirman), and Louise Belcher (Kristen Schaal). The first short story of the comic book is titled, "Tina's Erotic Friend Fiction Presents: My So-Called Life as a Horse," a callback to the stories Tina writes about her crushes in the show.

"Bob's Burgers" first aired on Jan 9, 2011 and has aired 67 episodes over four seasons. The show has been nominated for many awards representing excellence in animated television programming, and won the 2014 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program in 2014. A fifth, 22-epsiode season was ordered by Fox last year, and will air this fall.
