BlackBerry is offering 20 percent off on the BlackBerry Passport smartphone as part of the company's Spring Sale.

The Canadian smartphone maker launched and released the BlackBerry Passport in September 2014. The mobile phone has a unique squarish design and is mainly targeted at enterprise customers.

"As we set out to design BlackBerry Passport, we were guided by a simple yet challenging idea — to set aside the limitations of traditional design and to instead simply build a device that fundamentally changes the way business professionals get work done on their smartphone," said John Chen, Executive Chairman and CEO of BlackBerry. "The BlackBerry Passport was created to drive productivity and to break through the sea of rectangular-screen, all-touch devices."

The BlackBerry Passport has a 4.5-inch IPS LCD touch display and a physical keyboard with touchpad gestures. The handset has a display resolution of 1440 by 1440 pixels at 453ppi.

A quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz and 3 GB of RAM powers the BlackBerry Passport. The smartphone has 32 GB of internal storage, and customers can expand the memory to up to 128 GB with a microSD card.

The BlackBerry Passport is equipped with a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone camera has optical image stabilization (OIS), which allows users to take high-quality images even in low-light conditions.

The BlackBerry offering has a 3450 mAh integrated non-removable battery, which offers up to 30 hours of mixed usage. Customers get up to 14 hours of GSM talk time and up to 14.5 days of GSM standby time. Users can get up to 91 hours of audio playback and about 11 hours of video playback.

The BlackBerry Passport supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and NFC connectivity. The handset runs on the BlackBerry 10 operating system.

The BlackBerry Passport is available in black, white and silver color options. The black and white versions have a price tag of $499, but as part of the latest BlackBerry Spring Sale, customers can get the handset for $399.20, a discount of 20 percent.

BlackBerry has priced the silver iteration of the phone at $549, but after a discount of 20 percent, customers can buy the device for $439.20.

As part of the BlackBerry Spring Sale, customers can also avail 30 percent off on select accessories, including all cases, power and audio products.

The BlackBerry Spring Sale will end on April 12, and products are available in limited quantities.
