Days after a sexual assault lawsuit was dropped against "X-Men" director Bryan Singer, a new, similar accusation against Singer has surfaced.

A criminal complaint filed with the New York Police Department on May 9 says Singer allegedly forced a 20-year-old man into sexual acts against his will while in the city in March of 2013.

So far no official charges have been filed, but the NYPD says an investigation of the matter is ongoing, according to sources who spoke with the New York Post.

Two sexual assault lawsuits were dropped against Singer in the last month. An unnamed British man claimed in May Singer drugged and then sexually assaulted him in a London hotel room when he was still a teenager, according to TMZ. The man withdrew the lawsuit on July 25.

Another man, 31-year-old Michael Egan, accused Singer of sexual abuse in Hawaii while Egan was 17 in 1999. Egan dropped the lawsuit against Singer on Wednesday after being unable to find a lawyer to represent him. Egan does, however, have the option to refile the lawsuit at a later time. Singer attempted to have the case dismissed with prejudice, which would not allow Egan to re-file the suit, as well charging Egan with Singer's attorney fees. The U.S. District Judge residing over the case denied Singer's request.

Singer has continued to deny any and all allegations leveled against him, and his response to this latest accusation will likely be no different. Singer is currently working on the next installment of the "X-Men" film franchise "X-Men: Apocalypse." Singer left the franchise after directing the first two "X-Men" films, only to return this summer with "X-Men: Days of Future Past" to great box office success.

An extended edition "Days of Future Past" was confirmed to be coming in 2015 earlier this month by Fox executives. That version of the film will likely intergrate scenes left on the cutting room floor into the final film, rather than just including them in a deleted scenes section, including scenes Singer shot involving Anna Paquin's Rogue character.

Rogue had been featured in various promotional images for the movie prior to release and was a major player in Singer's original "X-Men" film. Singer said despite having to cut Paquin's scene that he hoped to make it available on the DVD "as she was quite wonderful in it."
