LG is set to make available its LG 360 CAM — a compact camera — in early May. The camera is a part of the company's "Friends" accessory range, which is available for the latest flagship LG G5.

Until now, little was known about the operational abilities of the LG 360 CAM. The South Korean OEM released a video entitled "LG G5: How to PLAY with LG 360 CAM" on YouTube on April 10, which teaches potential LG 360 CAM owners how to shoot 360-degrees with the camera.

"Thought shooting a 360 degree video was difficult? A few simple steps is all you need to connect your LG 360 CAM and to create fun 360 degree contents without complications!" notes LG Mobile in a Facebook post.

The YouTube video from LG Mobile Global is a minute and 14 seconds long, and asserts that shooting a 360-degree video from the LG G5 handset is pretty simple. It encourages that only three basic steps need to be followed to connect one's LG 360 CAM to "make your moments more playful!"

For the unfamiliar, the LG 360 CAM is essentially a hand-held camera that enables users to snap-up videos and photographs in a 360-degree angle. The LG CAM 360 is equipped with two powerful 12-megapixel imaging sensors, each of which is able to shoot at a 200-degree wide angle view. The cylindrical-looking LG 360 CAM is quite svelte and is capable of supporting 2K footage.

Moreover, both the 13-megapixel imaging sensors on the camera can record directly to the microSD card. The camera has 4 GB of on-board storage (expandable via the microSD card) and is fueled by a 1,200 mAh battery. The device also boasts three microphones which can record 5.1 surround sound.

The LG 360 CAM can be easily connected to the latest LG G5 smartphone, aiding one to create 360-degree videos or photos with comfort.

The video from LG takes one through how they can set-up and begin using their 360 CAM in tandem with the LG G5 smartphone. The camera can be controlled by deploying the LG Friends Manager, which enables the user to enlist the LG G5 smartphone as a viewfinder for the 360 CAM.

Sharing the content captured by the 360 CAM is not a problem either as LG has teamed up with Google Street View and YouTube 360. Therefore, one can upload the 360-degree content/media to either of the two. Moreover, whatever media is captured by the CAM 360 can also be viewed on the LG 360 VR headset, as well as the LG G5 smartphone. Once can also view the content on alternate smartphones.
