It looks like one of LG G5's Friends isn't going to land on U.S. shores, namely the Hi-Fi Plus with B&O Play.

The smartphone maker hasn't said why this is the case and, more importantly, how it can do this to every fan here and there, but it did respond to Android Authority's request for comment.

"At this time, we don't have an availability date set for the Hi-Fi DAC, and so don't have timing to share. As soon as we have an update, we will follow up," LG tells the Android news website.

It's also worth mentioning that the United States is not alone on this one, as Canada and Puerto Rico are also going to miss out on the Hi-Fi Friend.

With that said, the likely reason why the company isn't rolling it out in those countries is because it doesn't have enough supply to meet the combined expected demand of the four, not to mention that it could have run into a couple of bumps in acquiring an FCC certification.

This news came to light when the B&O Hi-Fi module went missing from the LG Friends website or the list of Friends at the LG G5 page, which Android Authority first spotted.

Long story short, those who are planning to get their hands on the LG G5 will have to live with it without the audio module, but based on LG's statement, there's more or less a chance that the Friend will arrive to the United States in the foreseeable future.

For the uninitiated, the Hi-Fi Plus with B&O Play instantly turns the LG G5 into a bona fide, high-quality music player. Needless to say, audiophiles were supposed to get a kick out of what LG brought to the table.
