A new show set in "The Walking Dead" universe is officially happening.

As Entertainment Weekly reports, AMC has officially ordered a pilot episode of a new series set in the same world of its smash hit "The Walking Dead," with the new show beginning production later this year.

The currently-untitled project will be set in a completely new location outside of Georgia, where "The Walking Dead" currently takes place. "The Walking Dead" executive producers Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert will all be working on the new show, which is being called a "companion" show, with Dave Erickson of "Sons of Anarchy" as showrunner.

Since both the current "Walking Dead" show, comic and video game series all take place in Georgia, it seems unlikely any familiar faces will be appearing for this newest zombie extravaganza.

While that isn't a whole lot of information to get excited about, who cares!? Let's celebrate with a selection of gifs from some of the few-and-far-between happy moments on "The Walking Dead."

Rick's just excited that someone else will be tormented by walkers for a change.

And a new show sounds like the perfect occasion for Daryl to get his drink on.

Maggie can barely believe "The Walking Dead" is getting its own spinoff. Hey, we're shocked too.

Of course if the new show sucks, well....
