For those of you who count Anthony Bourdain, Mario Batali and other TV chefs among your favorite television material, there's good news for you on the horizon.

Netflix, which is known for producing well-received shows such as "House of Cards," has just ordered its first docuseries in the form of a food-related storytelling.

Filmmaker David Gelb, who is best known for his work on the well-reviewed documentary "Jiro Dreams of Sushi," has been tasked with creating the new series "Chef's Table."

The new show will document some of the most well-known international chefs and go behind-the-scenes of their lives and what happens in their kitchens, similar to the premise of 'Jiro Dreams of Sushi'.

The 99% Rotten Tomato-rated 'Jiro Dreams of Sushi' follows the story of 85-year old Jiro Ono, considered by many to be the world's top sushi chef due to his lifelong dedication to the craft and stubborn attitude towards using only the best ingredients. His famed three-star Michelin restaurant Sukiyabashi Jiro is located inauspiciously in a Tokyo subway station and only has seats for 10 diners at a time. It is so popular that international travelers have made it a destination and the waiting list is booked months in advance.

"We want to continue to support the best in nonfiction storytelling. While some stories are best told as feature-length films, others, like Chef's Table, greatly benefit from being able to communicate their story in a multiepisodic fashion." said Lisa Nishimura, VP original documentary and comedy at Netflix. "We're fortunate to have the flexibility to match the story with the best format."

The series will start with six episodes that are slated for a 2015 release on Netflix.

The first round of international chefs to be featured in the first season will include:

Niki Nakayama of N/Naka Restaurant in Los Angeles, Calif.

Dan Barber of Blue Hill Restaurant in Stone Barns; New York, N.Y.

Massimo Bottura of Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy

Francis Mallmann of El Restaurante Patagonia Sur in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Magnus Nilsson of Fäviken in Järpen, Sweden

and

Ben Shewry of Attica Restaurant in Melbourne, Australia
