The BlackBerry Priv just got some neat discounts on AT&T, as the carrier slashed the price of the smartphone off-contract, with monthly installments or with two-year contracts for businesses.

Coming as the company's very first Android smartphone, and currently the only one, the BlackBerry Priv stirred plenty of interest. However, the smartphone failed to see great success due to its high price.

The latest price cuts for the BlackBerry Priv may now attract more customers who wanted the smartphone, but were not willing to make such a hefty investment.

Those who prefer to purchase the handset outright, without committing to lengthy carrier contracts, can now get the BlackBerry Priv from AT&T for $639.99. That's $100 off the previous price of $739.99, so it allows for significant savings.

When it comes to installment plans, customers can get the BlackBerry Priv for $0 down followed by 30 monthly payments of $21.34, 24 monthly installments of $26.67, or 20 monthly installments of $32, depending on which AT&T Next plan they choose. Either way, the total sum in the end would amount to roughly $640, the same as purchasing the handset outright.

As BlackBerry notes on its blog, business can purchase the AT&T BlackBerry Priv for $199.99 on a two-year contract, i.e. $50 less than the usual price of $249.99.

As a reminder, the Android-powered BlackBerry Priv sports a 5.4-inch WQHD AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 3 GB of RAM, an 18-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel front shooter and a large 3,140 mAh battery.

In terms of software, the BlackBerry Priv runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, but it's getting an upgrade to the latest Android Marshmallow. It's still in the beta stage for now, but it shouldn't take too long until all BlackBerry Priv units run the new OS.

For more details about the smartphone or to take advantage of this deal and get the BlackBerry Priv at a notably lower price, head over to AT&T and make your purchase. BlackBerry doesn't specify whether this is a promotional offer or a permanent price cut, but the deal is likely here to stay.
