Just when you thought the excitement over the Tesla Model 3 had died down since its memorable launch in Los Angeles last month, a new video has surfaced that provides a closer look at the electric vehicle.

Brought to you by Motor Trend, whose journalists were allowed to enter the under-construction Gigafactory that currently houses the model, the brand new pictures and video take you as close to the much-anticipated vehicle as possible before you get the car delivered at your doorstep, or a neighbor's for that matter.

"I'm going to be seeing a lot of these on the road very soon. It's the future. It's my kind of future," said Motor Trend video producer Travis Labella, while another journalist, Reynolds, summed it up as a "well-metered blend of classical automotive cues and future-car fantasies." All were of the opinion that the vehicle looked even better in person, its sleekness heightened by the two-piece glass roof that looked like the car top was held together by one piece of glass, together with the windshield, if seen in the right light.

The video posted by the company is rather uneventful at the beginning, but if you're patient enough to see it through the end, it does get informative in the latter half and explains things like why the snout is shorter, how the door handles function, and more. Apparently, the interiors are about to get an overhaul before Tesla Model 3 starts shipping at the end of 2017 and hence were not seen in the video.

Despite an increasingly long wait, the Model 3 was already gearing towards a busy production season with nearly 300,000 preorders as of the beginning of April 2016. It certainly looks like it's about to get busier for the car manufacturers as the numbers go further up as we speak, but it remains to be seen whether the Tesla guys manage to deliver this mammoth task on time.

Meanwhile, as the excitement over Tesla Model 3 reemerges, Gigafactory is almost ready to be officially opened, observed the Motor Trend journalists while taking in the current state of construction of the lithium-ion battery-pack production facility.
