It's beginning to look like the announcement for the next entry in the Call of Duty franchise is imminent. A listing for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare appeared on the PlayStation Store earlier this week, and what appears to be a marketing image for the game has also now hit the Web.

The news comes from Call of Duty fansite charlieintel.com, who claims the preorder card for Infinite Warfare comes from Target. We've heard rumors of the next Call of Duty game taking place in space, but this poster doesn't make it clear if that will be the case. There does appear to be some kind of aircraft/spacecraft behind the soldier in the poster, with the soldier himself holding some kind of flight gear. A release date of Nov. 4 is listed on the card, which matches up with Call of Duty's usual early November windows.

Aside from seeming to confirm the name of the game, the poster also reveals that Infinite Warfare will be getting a "legacy edition" that will include a remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. This year is Infinity Ward's turn on Call of Duty, and considering the developer also created the Modern Warfare subseries, it seems like a natural fit.

The first Modern Warfare helped the franchise's popularity grow exponentially, as it was the first Call of Duty game not set in World War II. The preorder card states that Modern Warfare Remastered will be a digital download.

It's assumed the "legacy edition" of Infinite Warfare will cost more than the standard version, but that's still unclear at the moment. In the past Activision has released various editions for Call of Duty titles, with names like Hardened, Prestige and Day Zero. In the case of Advanced Warfare's Day Zero version, it was simply the standard version of the game with a few extra in-game items for those who purchased the game within the first few weeks of release.

So far all the evidence for Infinite Warfare looks to be legitimate. Rumors indicate that an official announcement for the game will be coming before May 3. If all these leaks continue, however, it wouldn't be surprising to see Activision spill the details on the game early. That's what happened several years ago in the face of widespread Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare leaks. Expect more news soon.
