At long last, Fallout 4 Survival Mode is hitting the consoles in a few days' time as the headliner included in update 1.5.

Bethesda announced the big news via Twitter, telling settlers everywhere to get ready for it.

As a little refresher, the new Survival Mode is extremely difficult. Probably not Dark Souls hard, but at any rate, it's going to provide quite a challenge for the players because not only are the enemies going to be tougher, but there will also be some limitations in the mix.

"Survival adds additional challenges including no fast travel, saving only when you sleep, increased lethality, diseases, fatigue, danger and more," Bethesda said.

This development comes hot on the heels of when Bethesda rolled out the beta version to the PC via steam in April, bringing in support for the third DLC Far Harbor and a couple of fixes here and there.

As for official mod support, the company says that Xbox One will get it first later this month and PS4 in June.

It's also worth pointing out that the PC already got this feature plus the Creation Kit, the same tool that the developers used to create the game itself.

In other Fallout 4-related news, the Far Harbor trailer is already making the rounds online, and it may have just revealed underwater areas that settlers can explore.
